چکیده

Retroperitoneal fibrosis is a rare condition. It is idiopathic or secondary to various diseases including autoimmune diseases and atherosclerosis [1]. Although its pathogenesis is unknown, it is now considered that immune responses may play an important role in this disease [1]. Retroperitoneal fibrosis is also seen in metastatic carcinomas from many organs as a desmoplastic reaction [1]. However, retroperitoneal fibrosis associated with primary urogenital carcinoma is very rare, and it has been reported in only several times [2-6]. It is very infrequently reported that renal cell carcinoma (RCC) may be associated with retroperitoneal fibrosis [3-6]. Here, the author reports a case of retroperitoneal fibrosis associated with RCC of clear cell type with focal spindle changes.

Dedifferentiated chromophobe renal cell carcinoma with massive osteosarcoma-like divergent differentiation: a singular entity in the spectrum of retroperitoneal calcifying tumors.

Sarcomatoid change in renal cell carcinoma is the result of the dedifferentiation of the "parent" tumor into a high-grade malignancy characterized by sarcoma-like features and associated with an accelerated clinical course and poorer prognosis. Any of the renal cell carcinoma subtypes can undergo sarcomatoid dedifferentiation, with the chromophobe variant being the most prone. The present repor...

It is mostly observed in limbs and during retroperitoneal clearance, and accounts for nearly 40% of all adult retroperitoneal soft tissue sarcomas [1]. Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a common cancer developed in urinary system and its occurrence rate accounts for 3% of whole body malignant tumors [2]. I...

Laparoscopic management of spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage.

Wünderlich's syndrome is a spontaneous nontraumatic massive retroperitoneal hemorrhage. It is usually secondary to a renal neoplasm, with angiomyolipoma being the most frequent followed by renal cell carcinoma.
